Prof. Boyan Lechev
Following the will of the donor, Mr. Geroge-Mark Raynoff (USA), member of the Council of the St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation, the Foundation run a competition for one-year scholarship of 1,000 BGN (100 BGN a month during the school year) to be awarded to a young violinist studying at the "Lubomir Pipkov" National School of Music. The scholarship is named after Prof. Boyan Lechev, commemorating his work as a teacher who has trained brilliant violin players.

For many years Boyan Lechev was a professor in violin at the State Academy of Music "Pantcho Vladigerov" in Sofia. He was a the concert-master of the Sophia Philharmony and the Phylharmony of Tokyo, Japan. Prof. Boyan Lechev graduated the master class of Prof. David Oistrakh in Moscow.

Born in Sofia in the family of misicians, the violin turns to be his faith. He performs concerts all around Europe, Asia and Central America as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In his repertoire there are pieces by Bulgarian composers written especially for him. He was the Honorary President of the Kidzana Academi in Siana, Italy, and the Union of Bulgarian Composers.
