Switzerland Offers Scholarships to
Bulgarian Postgraduate Students
The Embassy of Switzerland informs that the Swiss Confederation, once again, offers the opportunity to Bulgarian postgraduate students to win university scholarships for the academic year 2008/2009 (2 semesters) within the frame of a scholarship pool. Applicants must hold a university degree (at least Bachelor's), be accepted by a Swiss academic institute and have a good knowledge of a Swiss national language (German, French or, in certain cases, Italian).
The administration of the selection process has been entrusted, as in previous years, to the St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation in Sofia. A number of well qualified applicants will be shortlisted by a committee of representatives of the Embassy, Foundation and Bulgarian academic circles and be forwarded to the Swiss Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students in Berne for definitive selection.
Moreover, the Swiss Government also grants scholarships for Bulgarian arts students who do not need to hold an academic degree, but who must be accepted in principle by a Swiss arts school and speak a Swiss national language.
Applicants who meet the above-mentioned criteria can obtain application forms and procedure information from the Foundation's website. Filled-in application forms will be accepted by the Foundation between 19 and 22 November 2007.
Applicants who are already in Switzerland or in a third country will not be given priority.
